These Remarkable Miniature Movie Sets Tell the Story of Movie Making Before Modern Technology

Origins of cinema and movie sets were so much different in the past then nowadays. That is only logical considering all the high tech stuff movie makers are able to use these days. Today we have CGI (computer-generated imagery) that helps us create whatever space or setting we need for the scene. Back in the day, producers had to use their own hands to make a movie set. Sometimes that set would be miniature. One man fell in love with the art of miniature during the 1980’s. That man is Dan Ohlman, a former cabinet maker who opened the Palais de la Miniature (The Miniature Palace) in Lyons, France, back in the 1989. His museum was the inspiration for the Musée Miniature et Cinéma , which is also located in Lyons, France. This huge building is filled with over 100 legendary and famous movie sets.
