Mary Parker is a nature-loving, beauty seeking, dog obsessed photographer based in Perth, Western Australia. She’s studied photography for 3 years at CIT and graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Photography. She states in her bio “Photography plays many roles for me. It is a way of documenting the magic around me, a creative outlet, a means of self expression, an ability to convey emotion, bring people joy, and tell all kinds of stories. What I enjoy most is shooting outdoors in nature, creating images of peaceful, ethereal beauty.” She has an incredible portfolio entitled “Sanctuary” which includes impressive female portraits. When asked about this photoseries, she says “Throughout my adolescence I struggled with my mental and physical health, and nature was a sanctuary and escape for me. I lament the disconnection between our everyday lives and the natural world. The vulnerability, hope and suffering that I experienced, combined with the beauty and majesty of nature, inspired this body of work.” Have a look at some of her images.
