Michael Schlegel is a photographer from Berlin, Germany. Fascinated by trees of free splaying branches, Michael does not aim necessary to express something poetic nor artistic in any way rather than “simply try to show his vision of how he experienced the location.” From Spanish olive grove and snow-covered trees of Germany to misty black and white photos of bare and intertwined branches of Fanal region of Madeira, Portugal. The talented photographer continues to capture native plants from all around the world. It was March 2019 when he visited Portugal hoping to capture its cloudy weather. Michael spent five consequent days under the dense fog with only ‘one or a few of these old, mysterious trees at a time.’ “I really enjoyed the atmosphere of walking around lonely, only being able to see what the fog allows me to”, the photographer said in an interview for thisiscolossal.
