Anton Gudim is a Russian artist and illustrator who draws very funny but clever comics. Through these illustrations, Anton is cleverly mocking the modern society. He is trying to tell a true story that is hiding behind the “happy” faces that people are showing on their social media or in public. His clever drawings are showing us how modern people desperately want to hide their sadness and loneliness. In this new age of technology, people have become isolated in their own little, fake worlds. People are afraid to feel something real, and instead of that, they’re burying their faces into smartphones in order to get away from the real world. You can’t see anyone reading a book in a public transportation anymore, and if, by any chance, you see someone holding a book, they’re probably hiding their tablet or a smartphone behind it. We can just hope that these amazing and genius illustrations by Anton Gudim will be a wake-up call for the almost completely lost humanity.
