Based in Singapore, Shirley Wong is an award-winning bento artist, upcoming cookbook author and blogger. She has been passionate for bento since 2011 and she has been sharing her art pieces via her blog. She creates character bentos like the ones in popular Japanese cartoons, comic books and video games. She is also very fond of Japanese culture and even learnt the language in two years. She says “Bento, cooking and food are things I enjoy very much. My head is often bursting with ideas on what to cook. Character bentos are my strength but I also love making traditional bento, japanese food, breads, tarts and sweets.” Nowadays she is working on her own bento cookbook which will be published soon.
